Were we always so cold
in this heated room
wearing three layers of clothing?
Or did it begin when
we first gazed into
each others eyes and joined lips?
Was that when the questions
had all been answered
about reality and fantasy?
Or was my mind racing
too much as my words
fell from "You're beautiful" to death?
Is this me sustaining
insanity or
how I keep from going insane?
